Recently, Brandon Reagan, a graduate student in the Burch-Smith lab, was awarded an inaugural Dawn and Lawrence Taylor Dissertation Award. This award was endowed by Dr. Dawn Taylor of the UT Planetary Geosciences Institute, and it is designated for graduate students who have advanced to Ph.D. candidacy and who “have demonstrated excellence in academic and research activity”. The award is a monetary supplement to the recipients’ current stipends. Brandon was nominated by the BCMB Department and the College of Arts and Sciences. He is completing his fifth year of graduate studies, and is the first author of two primary research articles and two review articles.
