It is with sadness that we announce that Dr. Bruce Anderson passed away. Dr. Anderson was one of the four founding faculty members of the UT-Knoxville Biochemistry Department when it launched in 1963. He was a faculty member from 1963-1970. After leaving UT, he became department head at Virginia Tech. He kept that position for 12 years, and then returned to teaching and research until he retired in 1998. In is career he published 113 research articles and trained 14 doctorate (6 at UT) and 5 master’s students.
