Dr. Bruce’s Lab Student Wins Conference Poster Award


Gabriela Little is an undergraduate student acquiring a BS in Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology and minoring in Psychology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She joined Dr. Barry Bruce’s lab during the summer of 2014 and works with PhD candidate Richard Simmerman to recombinantly produce, purify, and determine the structures of POTRA Domains of Toc75 from pea plants. Gabriela attended the 24th Western Photosynthesis Conference in Pacific Grove, California with the Bruce lab and was awarded for the presentation of her poster, “Production, Purification, and X-ray Crystallography of the POTRA Domains of PsToc75″.
