Rachel McCord in BCMB has been awarded an NIH R35 MIRA award entitled: Folding, Misfolding, and Unfolding: How human 3D genome structure resists, adapts, or succumbs to physical stresses in health and disease. This grant supports the overall research program of the lab with $250k per year for 5 years. Using these funds, the lab will continue investigating the role of the human 3D genome structure during confined migration in cancer, in the premature aging disease Progeria, and after X-ray irradiation.
