BCMB GRADUATE
ADMISSIONS
Welcome to the Graduate Program in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology (BCMB)! Members of the BCMB faculty conduct research on a diverse range of topics, including biophysics and biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, genetics, genomics, developmental biology, neuroscience, and computational biology. The labs are using various life models, such as bacteria, yeasts, worms, flies, plants, and mammals, and state-of-the-art technologies to elucidate the functions and mechanisms of basic biological processes that are important for agriculture and human health.
Joint faculty within the program include individuals from UT’s engineering departments, UT Medical Center, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. We seek highly motivated graduate students interested in pursuing research/professional careers in these areas. The BCMB Graduate Program includes an initial year of core classes and laboratory research rotations followed by a broad array of more specialized courses. We strive to ensure that students graduate from our program with the research and communication skills necessary for success.
If you would like additional information about applying to the program, please directly contact BCMB office (BCMB@utk.edu).
Deadline Date: Preference will be given to applications submitted by Nov 1st, but applications will be accepted until all vacancies filled.
