Each year, the Department of Biochemistry & Cellular and Molecular Biology (BCMB) recognizes
outstanding undergraduate students majoring in BCMB. A reception will be held at Calhoun’s on the River on May 7, 2026.
The award winners will be contacted via email, and their names will be posted on the BCMB webpage following the event.
Applications are due by midnight on Monday, April 6, 2026, and should be submitted to Reagan Strang. Materials may be delivered to the BCMB office (Room 309, Ken & Blaire Mossman Building) or emailed to her at (rstrang4@utk.edu).
These awards are open to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have declared BCMB as their major. Senior students graduating in the summer 2026 are not eligible to apply; you must be enrolled for the Fall semester.
To apply for these scholarships, a student must submit the following:
- A letter of interest describing your qualifications for the scholarship
- A current transcript (this can be a copy)

- Two (2) letters of recommendation
Some scholarships may require additional supporting documents; please review the specific criteria for each scholarship you are applying for. Applicants are asked not to apply for more than two (2) scholarships.
