ADVISING
Advising in the Department of BCMB has two critical objectives. The first is to facilitate the progress of undergraduate students and enable them to meet the requirements for a bachelor’s degree in biology in a timely manner. The second is to help students choose a course of study that will enable them to achieve their career goals. Meeting these objectives is an active process engaging both students and faculty. While students are ultimately responsible for understanding university, college, and department requirements, faculty advisors can provide current information about requirements, options, and procedures. To aid in this process, a number of resources—available to both students and faculty—are provided on the departmental Advising Resources page.
As the advising coordinator for the department, I am here to assist you and your faculty advisor with curriculum issues and to help ensure your continued progress toward your degree and graduation. You are welcome to schedule a meeting with me to discuss courses, academic issues, careers, etc. I look forward to getting to know you and working with you during the remainder of your undergraduate career.
